Connally Guerrant

Connally Guerrant died early on the morning of August 5, 2002 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was 91 years old. His death resulted from complications from a bad fall he suffered earlier at his residence at Southminster Retirement Community.

Connally was a founding member of the Catawba Yacht Club, starting in 1946. His efforts and leadership in the early years of the Club contributed greatly to its growth and success. He served as Commodore and was the recipient of the Cooley Cup. Connally was a skilled craftsman and built a number of boats including "Duchess" which was the first Lightning Class sailboat on Lake Wylie. Her transom hangs in the clubhouse.
