Facilities at Catawba Yacht Club: Sailing, Rowing and Water Fun, Lake Wylie, Charlotte, NC

We extended our launch ramps by 25 feet in 2001 -- making them the longest and deepest ramps on Lake Wylie. Under the lowest water conditions on the lake, the ends of the ramps are still at least eight feet deep. The photographs below show the work done to extend the ramps. We have one on each side of a floating dock. The ramp on the right is best for deep-keel boats because it drops off faster. The ramp on the left is good for power boats and non-keel sailboats. During regattas, CYC can provide web straps that enable you to extend the reach of your trailer to ensure a good clean float-off or float-on of your sailboat.
