I have the Quick Chick to the point where she is ready for sale. This boat has proven to be fast in both capable( Second Place, and nearly first in the Cottonwood Last year) and unfamiliar hands ( This fall in novice hands, and with really bad sails, it nearly beat W10139 in several races ( Free Range Chickn)). The boat feels light, compared to my boat, and the Proctor mast is very sensitive, which makes the boat easy to handle and really improves sail shape. ( A new Proctor mast is about $1500, I checked for my boat.)
Age is not a handicap for a Wayfarer. Designed for tortured plywood, screw and glue construction, the hull is one very strong curve from stem to stem. Also the rig tension is released when not being sailed. Therefore you don't get hull fatigue. In other words the boats don't get flexible in their old age. That's why you see old woodies which are still very competitive with the fiberglass boats. W3627 is a Wayfarer Mk 1. It is considered to be a better boat than My Mk III for both racing and cruising. ( I was advised to sell my MkIII and keep the MkI by the class Guru Uncle Al) One final note, the Wayfarer is a very robust boat. I think Mark Knollmeyer can attest to that. ( Sorry Mark! ) It is also a very dry boat.
The Bottom line is this: W3627 is for sale for $3000. This includes a year 2000 trailer, that looks new. It includes Year 2000 North Racing sails ( Main and Jib from the Free Range Chickn). Proctor spars, including spinnaker pole. The boat is fully rigged for racing including spinnaker. I've faired both the centerboard and the rudder in accordance with an article from Sailing world ( Oct 2000) and they are very clean.
All the boat would need would be a cover, and a spinnaker. I can allow the new owner to borrow my camp cover till a new one comes in, and I may be able to work a deal on my Spinnaker so you have a full complement of sails. Also the old sails will go with the boat. They can be recut for cruising.
