The Atlantic Coast Champs were sailed this weekend in Charlotte. Once again, our reigning points champions, Brian Zimmerman and John Milligan (Charleston) took charge right off the bat and one the won the event by taking bullets in 5 of the nine races sailed. Dan Lawrence (Annapolis) and Gary Van Tassel (Charlotte) finished with a close second place over Bill and Angie Wiggins (York, SC).
This year's V15 Fleet wasn't huge. However, the competition was tough. Even though First & Second were pretty much sewn up going into Sunday, Third through Sixth took until the last race to be decided.
I'd like to thank those who drove long distances from as far away as Destin Florida and Annapolis, MD to sail this event. This class needs more determined sailors like yourselves.
